Meet Iesha Crumpton, the founder of Epic The Collection

Iesha Crumpton, the founder of Epic The Collection

Could you please tell our readers a brief background about yourself and how you started your business?

Crumpton’s entrepreneurial flair first emerged around the age of 11 when she started buying candy in bulk & reselling at school.

From there she started following shoes & streetwear fashion brands like Jordan, Von Dutch, & True religion which set the tone for the style & vision that would ultimately be embodied by her own brand.

Where did the idea for “Epic The Collection” come from?

The idea for EPIC came from me always wanting the closest people around me to excel in life. EPIC is an acronym that stands for “Everyone Prospers In our Clique”. The brand is crafted to motivate entrepreneurs along their journey to success.

As an entrepreneur, what is it that actually motivates and drives you?

I am motivated by my great-grandmother that passed away while I was in college. She always pushed me to be the best version of myself, & to chase after my dreams with everything I had to give.

What excites you most about your industry? Where do you see it heading in the near future?

The fashion industry is one of the top 10 growing trends right now so that excites me that I have not only followed my dreams by trying to motivate through fashion but to also have a piece of mind that this is a great career choice.

What money mistakes have you made along the way that others can learn from (or something you’d do differently)?

The biggest money mistake I made was into investing in a business mentor at the very start of my clothing brand journey. The reason being is that mentors have great experience and they provide a fresh perspective to your business.

Therefore I would have saved a lot of money on things that weren’t a great idea and been able to invest in something that would have been more beneficial.

What has been your greatest achievement so far?

My greatest achievement has been successfully transitioning from a job to my dream and motivating others to take the same leap of faith to stand on business to follow their dreams & become the best version of themselves they see fit.

What is your brand’s philosophy?

Here at Epic The Collection we believe that resources for entrepreneurs should be available for all aspiring entrepreneurs. We aim to inspire entrepreneurs by motivation through fashion.

What is the best advice you have ever been given?

The best advice I was giving is to put 100 percent into what you do. You’ll always get out what you put in.

Where do you see yourself in the next five years?

My goal in the next five years is to successfully open up a nonprofit organization where all ages can come to get help with anything pertaining to entrepreneurship. Wither that be business credit, business plans, business mentorship, etc.

What is the one book that you recommend our community should read and why?

I recommend every entrepreneur or anyone who is an aspiring entrepreneur to read Hustle Harder; Hustle Smarter by 50 Cent. In the book, he gives a lot of advice on life lessons, teaches how to turn your losses into wins mentally, & gives insight on understanding your true friends & the roles people play in your life.

What advice would you give to a newbie Entrepreneur setting up their first business?

The best advice I can give a new entrepreneur is to reinvest! When you reinvest in yourself or your brand it increases growth, revenue, & profit. Don’t penny-pinch from profits keep reinvesting 100% to ultimately grow.
