Meet Nicole Coach “J” Perkins, The Founder of Virtuous & Wealthy, $10K/M

Nicole Coach “J” Perkins is a High Ticket Small Business Coach who has a passion to see business owners increase their revenue while exceeding the expectations of their clients.

Coach “J” is also a wife and a mother who finds joy in the simple things of life when she is not being a lady boss. The desire to see small business owners thrive in what they do is what drives Coach “J” every day.

Being an entrepreneur herself, she is familiar with the struggles it takes to scale a business and has found a way to break through any plateau and “Scale No Matter What!”

Could you please tell our readers a brief background about yourself and how you started your business?

I actually started as a Personal Finance Consultant before I became Coach “J” the Small Business Coach. As a consultant, I would often help friends and family members with budgeting and debt management.

Eventually, I gained clients and started my own personal finance coaching business. In addition to coaching personal finance, I also have over 15 years of experience in the financial services industry, working for banks, mortgage companies, etc.

So crossing over to small business coaching was truly a “no-brainer” for me. The same method that made my personal finance clients experience more wealth and prosperity, I apply to my small business clients today to help them scale and bring in more revenue!

Where did the idea for The “VIRTUOUS & WEALTHY MILLIONAIRE MINDSET” come from?

The idea for the name Virtuous & Wealthy Millionaire Mindset came as a result of a personal standard that I set for myself to do business in the most excellent way possible.

Why do you think that PR is the tool you need to implement in your business and how it helps to grow your business?

I strongly feel that ‘no one knows you if no one knows you. In other words, PR is a way for the public to notice you and to see the person beyond the face.

It is vital to have PR and I use it as a tool to grow my business. I cannot see doing business without it.

What are the three biggest challenges you have faced growing the business and how did you overcome them?

There are so many challenges that I have faced growing my business, but if I had to narrow it down to just three:

  • Finding a business coach … You have to be on the same page with anyone who is mentoring you and they have to push you to greatness and get you out of your comfort zone.
  • Avoiding the “Shiny Object” Syndrome… There will always be “new” ways of doing things, sometimes you just have to work with what you have and do it well!
  • Finding balance… As an entrepreneur you have to understand that your family, friends, etc. are on this journey with you, they see the highs, lows, and long nights. So making sure that you are present and spending time with them is key.

As an entrepreneur, what is it that actually motivates and drives you?

As an entrepreneur, what drives me is the desire to see my clients’ vision for their businesses come to life. It is the most rewarding experience.

What social media platforms do you usually use to increase your brand’s awareness and why?

I am a huge user of Facebook, Instagram, and Youtube. However, I am mostly on Facebook. It is to anyone’s advantage to gain visibility on such a huge platform that serves millions of people every day.

What is your main tactic when it comes to making more people aware of your brand and engaging your customers? How did your business stand out?

The main tactic that I use when it comes to making more people aware of my brand and engaging customers is simple organic interaction.

I am very much into getting to know a person and learning how I can help them as much as possible. I am sure it is not the most intriguing method but it works!

What is the toughest decision you had to make in the last few months?

The biggest decision I had to make was letting go of some of the talent I had been working with.

I am learning that some people are in your life for a season and like anything else friendship, partnership, and relationship evolves and you become different people with different purpose.

What piece of advice do you wish someone had given you at the start of your career?

WOW…This is such a great question and the answer has actually been the key to my success. The one piece of advice that I wish

someone had given me at the start of my career, would be to stay CONSISTENT. It is so easy to give up at the first sign of trouble and difficulty, you have to push to see what the end will be.

What excites you most about your industry? Where do you see it heading in the near future?

What excites me most about the industry I am in is that I am able to dream with my clients. Typically, when I first meet a client, surprisingly enough they have stopped dreaming.

To be the one person who can take their goals, dreams, and vision to the next level is very humbling and fulfilling.

If you could go back in a time machine to the time when you were just getting started, what would you do differently?

I will first say that I am glad that there is not a time machine. I am not sure the person I was could appreciate or fully comprehend the space that I am in now. So the one thing that I would do differently would be to protect my peace and confidence.

Situations in life if given the chance can make you lose both and you have to be just as adamant about protecting them.

What is the one book that you recommend our community should read and why?

The one book that I recommend that an entrepreneur should read is Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill.

It is an invaluable read that everyone should experience at least once in their life. The book is nonfiction and based on the life of extraordinary people beating the odds.

What advice would you give to a newbie Entrepreneur setting up their first business?

When I first speak with clients about scaling their businesses, it is like speaking to a newbie entrepreneur. There is a shifting of mindset that has to take place.

The advice that I often give is to take what you have and make it as valuable as possible. Your clients and customers should walk away with a “WOW” experience.
