Could you please tell our readers a brief background about yourself and how you started your business?

I am an author from Detroit, Michigan. I graduated college from Wayne State University in Detroit. I have a background in mental health, social work, and therapy.

In my spare time, I enjoy fishing, playing chess, reading, writing, and dining out. I began writing in 2016 and I have not looked back.

Where did the idea for writing the origin series come from?

I wrote the first book of the series when I was 16 years old. I’ve always enjoyed science fiction and always wanted to write a book about a science fiction story that people would enjoy.

So at 16, I decided to write my first book.

Why do you think that PR is the tool you need to implement in your business and how it helps to grow your business?

I have always believed that entrepreneurs have great ideas and wonderful products. But if no one knows that they exist, no one is going to buy their products.

I think it is near an issue with the product, which some may tend to erroneously think, but I think no one knows about their wonderful business and the great products that they have.

What are you currently doing to maintain/grow your business?

Get out in the public and do book signings. I think actively and consistently engaging with people is important. I also want to continue to strengthen my social media presence as well.

As an entrepreneur, what is it that actually motivates and drives you?

People buying my books and enjoying them is what keeps me going. If no one was buying, I don’t think I would still be writing. Also, I get a lot of great feedback from readers too.

What is your experience with paid advertising, like PPC or sponsored content marketing campaigns? Does it work?

I believe it does work. This depends on your goals and your business strategy. For me, it was trial and error, finding that sweet spot.

It involved experimenting with the best approach to implement a fruitful strategy. My approach to this is doing your research on it and educating yourself.

What is your main tactic when it comes to making more people aware of your brand and engaging your customers? How did your business stand out?

I think being consistent is very key. I also believe that you have to work twice as hard as everyone else. There is so much competition, and you have to find ways to stand out.

There are millions of books out there, so I ask myself “how do I get noticed amongst the masses?” I have to get creative because there is no guaranteed template for success.

Based on your personal experience, what advice would you give to an Entrepreneur considering PR for their business?

Do your research and educate yourself. Find out what works best for you, your business, and your budget. Don’t jump on the first thing you see.

Put that to the side and come back to it if nothing more suitable comes along.

What is the toughest decision you had to make in the last few months?

Well, we did a play last year based on one of my books. While the play was featured online for all to watch, I desired to do a live play this year.

Unfortunately, due to several factors, I had to cancel the live performance and show it again online.

What piece of advice do you wish someone had given you at the start of your career?

I just wished someone was there to encourage me. I learned just a little encouragement can push me a long way.

Where do you see it heading in the near future?

One of the most exciting things is learning more about my craft. To watch me steadily improve provides me with great confidence.

What is one piece of advice you still remember that has practically changed your life?

This piece of advice came from someone famous and someone that I always wanted to meet. He told me worked twice as hard as anyone else.

There are so many people doing what you’re doing, make yourself stand out.

Where do you see yourself in the next five years?

I see myself having my origin series of books on the big screen. I think it will be a great movie!

What is one piece of software or a web service that helps you be productive? How do you use it?

I use Grammarly writing software when I write. It has been very helpful for me. I just use this on my rough drafts.

What is the one book that you recommend our community should read and why?

Controversy creates cash by Eric Bishoff.

What has been your greatest achievement so far?

Having my books become a stage play. It was a great experience! Also being featured in prominent publications such as yahoo, LA Tribune, and Manchester Times among others.

What advice would you give to a newbie Entrepreneur setting up their first business?

If you can, get a mentor who is proficient in your field. I would also advise them to stay consistent and never give up.
